Dinner Before a Night Out, Without Leaving
Most groups eat somewhere, then go looking for somewhere else. At Monarca, dinner is the first half of the night, and the second half happens in the same room.
Where a group can eat before going out
Monarca is a Gastown supper club at 181 Carrall Street. Groups sit down to family-style platters and cocktails, and on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays the room shifts into a night out: Latin music from 10pm on Thursdays, DJs on Fridays and Saturdays, open until 3am. There’s no second line-up and no splitting up between venues.

How groups usually do it
- 7–8:30pm: sit down for dinner. Family-style platters make ordering for a group easy.
- 9:30–10pm: the music builds and the room fills.
- Late: keep the night together at a VIP table with bottle service, or move to the bar.
Food that works for a group
Order the Guajillo Chicken & Skirt Steak platter ($36 per person) or the Striploin, Chipotle Prawns & Tuna platter ($45 per person), add tacos and small plates for the table, and finish with churros. Shareable cocktails such as The Skull and Quetzalcoatl serve two.
Good to know before you book
- Table times. Dinner reservations have a set table time, which we confirm when you book. Please arrive on time: a table can be released when a party arrives very late.
- Staying into the night. Later in the evening some tables become bottle-service tables. If you want to keep a table through the DJ set, ask about a VIP table when you book.
- Dress code. Monarca is an upscale room. Dress for a night out.
- Groups. For groups, email your date, headcount and occasion to Reservations@monarcavancouver.ca so we can plan the right table and timing.

Where can a group eat before going out in Vancouver?
Monarca in Gastown is built for it. Groups have dinner from 4pm, and on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays the same room turns into a night out with Latin music or DJs, open until 2am on Thursday and 3am on Friday and Saturday.
Do we need to leave after dinner?
Dinner tables have a set table time, which we confirm at booking. To keep your group together later into the night, book a VIP or bottle-service table, or carry on at the bar.
What should a group order?
The family-style platters (minimum two) are the easiest way to feed a table, with tacos and small plates to add on, and cocktails made to share.
